The first and foremost factor while buying a house should be to consider the neighbourhood. An ideal neighbourhood is what should be an owners concern before investing in a home. While looking for your dream house, you will often come across several advertisements saying 'wonderful neighbourhood'. But how would you know whether a neighbourhood is ideal for you and your family.

Try to take as much as information about the type of economy that prevails in the locality where you are looking for a house. Another most significant factor should be the transportation and connectivity of the area from other parts of the city/town. See whether there is school, doctor's clinic, market etc are located near your proposed house. You also cannot play down the importance of entertainment and recreation from your life. Therefore the locality should ideally be located at close proximity to parks, restaurants, bars, theatres etc.

Safety and security of your family must be a priority. Therefore it is essential to select a neighbourhood which is safe and have an effective vigilance system running 24/7. The locality should also be clean and have proper sanitation system which is essential for healthy living.

Another vital aspect that should always be kept in mind while buying a house is to have legal as well as public documents prepared. Special attention must be given to ensure that the documents are accurately prepared and are properly investigated. If these things are not given primary importance and are dealt with lightly then it may lead towards heavy penalty and at worst even imprisonment. It may also lead towards cancellation of the legal claim of the house.

First time buyers should always look to it that the documents go through a thorough investigation either by him/her or by any professional experienced in preparing or assessing such legal papers.

A house owner should maintain a proper record of necessary documents such as title insurance, insurance policy of the homeowner, letter of allotment, coverage of the lender and payment receipts while choosing a home.

It is not always possible for a buyer to shell out the entire sum of money to acquire a home in his/her desired neighbourhood. To ease their finance problems they can avail a mortgage loan that will cover most of the sum required to buy the property. Even in this case, look out for a perfect mortgage loan for home that will offer the most cheap rate and best terms.
